Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) works by blocking the effects of the male hormone testosterone. Testosterone has a negative effect on prostate cancer, in that it binds itself to the cancerous cells and causes them to grow faster. Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) prevents testosterone from binding itself to these cells and without the catalyzing influence of this hormone, the prostate tumor eventually shrinks.
