How to use
Generic Flomax (Tamsulosin) should be taken orally once a day (unless directed otherwise by your doctor) and swallowed whole. Take the first dose at bedtime to minimize the chances of dizziness or fainting. After the first dose, take your regularly scheduled dose 30 minutes after the same meal each day. To get the best results, you should take this medication at approximately the same time on a daily basis. If you have not taken this drug for several days, contact your doctor to re-establish your dosing schedule.

Overdose
In case of an overdose contact your local poison control center. If the patient has collapsed or stopped breathing, contact the emergency services. 

Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

Notes
Do not share this medication with others, since they may have a problem that is not effectively treated by this drug.

Storage
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C), away from light and moisture. KEEP THIS AND ALL MEDICATIONS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Precautions

Drug Interactions
This drug should not be used with the following medications because serious interactions may occur:

• Sildenafil
• Vardenafil

Before using this drug, tell your doctor of all other medication you use, especially:

• Other alpha-blockers
• High blood pressure medication
• Blood thinners
• Tadalafil

Speak to your doctor if you also take drugs that cause drowsiness such as:

• Anti-anxiety drugs
• Antihistamines
• Anti-seizure drugs
• Sleeping pills
• Muscle relaxants
• Narcotic pain relievers
• Psychiatric medicines
• Tranquilizers

This list is not complete and there may be other drugs that can interact with Generic Flomax (Tamsulosin). Tell your doctor about all prescription and over-the-counter medication you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.

Side Effects of Generic Flomax (Tamsulosin) may include:

• Dizziness
• Unusual weakness
• Drowsiness
• Trouble sleeping
• Runny nose
• Decrease of semen

Inform your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur:

• Fainting
• Changes in vision

Contact your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur:

• Sexual problems
• Rapid heartbeat.

In the unlikely event of a painful, prolonged erection lasting 4 hours or more, you should stop using this drug and seek immediate medical attention or permanent problems could occur.
