How to use
Keflex (Cefalexin) should be taken orally, every 6-12 hours, or as directed by your doctor. This medication can be used with food if you have an upset stomach. This medicine performs at its best when there is a constant amount of the medication in your body, therefore, you should take Keflex (Cefalexin) at even intervals. This treatment should be used for its full prescribed time-period, even if the symptoms seem to have gone away. Stopping too early can allow the bacteria to grow back.

Overdose
If an overdose has occurred contact your local poison control and/or emergency authorities immediately.

Missed dose
If you have missed a dosage take it as soon as you remember.  If it is closer to your next dosage, skip the missed dose, resume your schedule and do not attempt to double up on a dosage.

Notes
While taking this medication, you may feel dizzy or light-headed or actually faint when getting up from a lying or sitting position. If getting up slowly doesn't help or if this problem continues, notify your doctor.

Storage
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) keep away from light and moisture. KEEP THIS AND ALL MEDICATIONS OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.

Pecautions
Before using Keflex (Cefalexin), tell your doctor about any allergies you have. Inform your doctor about your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, intestinal disease.

Druge Interactions

Before using this medication, tell your doctor about any medications you use, especially of: live vaccines, probenecid. This medication may decrease the effectiveness of combination-type birth control pills; which can result in pregnancy. You may need to use an additional form of reliable birth control while using this medication. This medication may cause false positive results with certain diabetic urine testing products.

Side effects may include upset stomach, headache, fatigue, dizziness, or diarrhea.
Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: mental or mood changes.
Contact your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but serious side effects occur: stomach or abdominal pain, persistent nausea or vomiting, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, new signs of infection, easy bruising or bleeding, change in the amount of urine. Do not use anti-diarrhea products or narcotic pain medications if you have the following symptoms because such products may make them worse. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain or cramping, or blood or mucus in your stool.  Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms.
